Pattern writing

As a mother of two small children and a wife to a husband in school, the days and weeks can seem long; and with little relief. Crocheting and knitting gives me that creative outlet that I think everyone needs! Over the past several months of really trying to build the “You’ve Been Yarned” name, I’ve been a little unorganized going back and forth deciding whether or not to  make and sell or just write and sell patterns.  I knew that for me, both would be too much.

I’ve finally decided that I will focus more on pattern writing.   I’ve noticed that I’ve had a little more success with patterns and figured I have the option to  sell any extras I make from testing them- so win win!

Writing patterns takes work, that’s for sure, but the process is so satisfying. There’s something to be said about the stress relief that creating and crafting provides.

I’ve just completed a hat pattern that will be released November 1st and I love the way it turned out!

if you’re interested in the yarn used for the hat pictured, it is Bernat Satin in the color Plum Mist heather. I purchased it at Joanns craft store.
